Educational Goals

Participants will:

  • be immersed in the culture, language, and vision of a uniquely Jewish addiction residential treatment center
  • understand that addiction is part of a broad spectrum of existential brokenness and the challenges of living well in body, mind, and spirit
  • enhance their knowledge and skills pertaining to addiction education, addiction response, and minimizing the consequences of addiction for families
  • understand the role the Jewish tradition, as a wise approach to living well
  • personalize relevant Jewish texts and spiritual practices, relating it to their professional practice, as well as their personal lives.
  • acquire the skills and confidence to address addiction and human brokenness in their personal and professional lives
  • collaborate and learn from one another and the facilitators in a safe, courageous, and open environment of trust

Program Requirements

  • 12 months of learning (Beginning January 9th, 2023)

  • Three 4-day gatherings (2 virtual, one in person in Los Angeles)

  • Monthly webinars cover the following:

  • A deep dive into Beit T’Shuvah’s 5 Recovery Tasks:

  • Role of Spirituality in Recovery

  • Translating Sacred texts into Healing

  • Imposter Syndrome

  • Turning Resentments into Forgiveness

  • 1 on 1 Spiritual Counseling sessions with your own Spiritual Counselor

  • Intended to help you craft your own spiritual program and support you to live well, self-care, feed your soul

  • Learning how to process post sessions

Program Design

This program is designed to help students identify the strengths and challenges in their lives (i.e. academic stress, rebelliousness, , lack of confidence etc.). Identifying such struggles and difficulties is one of the first steps of dealing with problems in healthy and mindful ways. During this one-time program, students hear one or more resident’s personal stories to further understand and explore ways to avoid making their mistakes.. Students learn how to best deal with the obstacles and emotional terrain that every teenager faces.
